sometimes, when I drill for an item, i somehow don't get it. It just disappears. This happened in the terrestrial part.

Did you check your inventory before and after? I think it still gives you the item, but occasionally fails to display the text.

This happens way too often with copper. And yes, the item does not appear in the inventory. I've just dug out 2 coppers to get no messages and 0 copper in inventory.

I have had this happen to me much with rare stuff at times. First mithril didnt give me anything and could not find more for a long time

Resources get automatically consumed if your inventory is full. Metals repair, Crystals refuel, and gasses re-oxygenate. This feature was also present in Glean 1, and is meant to keep them from being totally wasted if the player has no more room for them.

If only inventory was full - I had empty inventory, got 2 coppers out of the planet, ended up with zero copper.
