- The easiest area to gather resources would be aerial planets.
- Plasma is easiest to obtain by mining therazene geysers, for they do not explode, however the gas bursts can hurt you.
- Solar cells are obtained in aerial planets in higher-altitude chests.
- You are going to need A LOT of pure water for some upgrades.
- Pure water is found in chests in aquatic worlds
- Fungus spores are obtained by the purple tings on terrestrial planets, and usually spawn in groups. cause vibrations nearby for a few extra, but the effect it does nullifies you upgrades.
- Chitin is obtained in terrestrial planets also, from the brown snake-things that come out of the holes. cause vibrations nearby to lure it out of the hole until it falls. Run over it to collect the chitin.
- Viscera is obtained by the turtles which are found on any type of planet. Drill into them from below and you should collect about 10 viscera per turtle. (this has changed so the deeper it is, the more you get. Now you get about 2 from a turtle near the surface. )
- When attacking turtles, you should always try to put them on a single block platform. However, this can be tricky as the turtles speed up from vibrations from drilling.
- The deeper (or higher in aerial planets) you go, the more artifacts (and any extras) you will get. Note also that at higher altitudes or lower depths on aerial and aquatic worlds, it is most likely that they will recharge faster (That is what I have found, done on aerial planet. 48 solar cells at 150 approx. altitude in 5 minutes.
- Locking off a gas deposit from the geyser (e.g getting rid of all the blocks connecting it to the geyser) they will lose their gas.
- You gain vast amounts of oxygen gas when getting pearls or oil, just use them.
- Oxygen or ozone is best for farming unstable isotopes, as you do not need to dig. I would recommend oxygen, because it will not damage you and it is easily obtained from chests down deep.
- Adapt your upgrades! Many upgrades are useful as is and do not need changing, however drill power, drill speed and drill vibrations all affect the vibrations from your drill. Lower each of these a bit (MK-2 Drill power and MK-3 Drill speed with MK-Drill Vibrations works well for digging fairly fast whilst avoiding too many vibrations).
If you have any other tips or advice I could put into this thread, feel free to put it in a reply!

- Resources balance is changed from patch to patch. Do not rely on posted numbers - Use bonus time to specifically harvest trophies, especially pearls, chitin, viscera and amber. With amber it'll be harder, as you need to get pretty high to first encounter that resource. - It's worth to take harm while you're not yet into Mk8 upgrades and are on terrestrial/aquatic worlds. You will get some rare resources, and you can constantly repair yourself from mithril/orichalcum while that deep, and you'll still have some to bring back to the ship. - Fungus spores only clog your drill, making you drill at Mk0 speed while fungus is in effect. If you're under bonus time, either avoid fungus infestation, or use teleporter and clean it off. - Pure water is now limitless, gather while you have storage.
