When you teleport to the surface using teleportation node, your heat/pressure gauge is not reset. Apparently this is intentional, because there are physical factors not letting you instantly change temperature. But subsequent (or any) teleporting to SHIP and backwards should do the reset, because the time passed at ship is not measured, and since you get full repairs and refuel while being there, along with cargo unloading, that time should be significant enough for the heat/pressure buildup to subside.
Also, teleporting downwards should not just set the pressure/heat to environmental levels, because heating or compression is also not an instant process, so the gauge should get upwards from zero to environmental level, depending on your plating/cooling systems, still quickly enough to not allow free roam under excess pressure/heat without harm.

actually, i think this is a bug... as it does reduce temperature (in terrestrial environments), but does not reduce pressure (in aquatic environments).
